Types of Family Visas We Assist With

We offer services for the following family visa categories:

A partner visa allows individuals to join or remain with their spouse, civil partner, or fiancé(e) in the UK.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • You must be in a genuine and subsisting relationship with your UK-based partner.
  • You must meet the minimum income requirement of £29,000 per year, or a combination of income and savings.
  • You must provide evidence of your relationship, such as photos, communication history, joint finances, and any other proof of your ongoing relationship.
  • The sponsoring partner in the UK must be a British citizen or have settled status
  • Your relationship must have lasted at least 2 years for a civil partnership or spouse visa, or be in the process of getting married for a fiancé(e) visa.

Documents Required:

  • Passport or other valid travel documents.
  • Proof of your relationship (e.g., photos, messages, letters).
  • Evidence of your partner's immigration status (if in the UK).
  • Proof of income or savings to meet the minimum income requirement.

Visa Duration:

  • Spouse or partner visas are typically granted for 2.5 years and can be extended for another 2.5 years before applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR).

2. Parent Visas

A parent visa allows parents of children who are British citizens or settled in the UK to join them.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • You must be the biological or adoptive parent of a child who is a British citizen or has settled status in the UK.
  • Your child must be under the age of 18 at the time of your application.
  • You must prove you have sole or shared responsibility for your child’s upbringing.
  • The parent seeking to join the child must meet the financial requirements.

  • Evidence of your child’s status in the UK.
  • Evidence that you meet the financial requirements.

Visa Duration:

  • Parent visas are generally granted for 2.5 years, with a pathway to ILR after 5 years.

3. Child Visas

A child visa allows a child to join their parent(s) in the UK or to remain in the UK with their parent(s) under the care of a parent who is a British citizen or settled.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The child must be under 18 years old.
  • The child’s parent must either be a British citizen, have ILR, or be applying for leave to remain in the UK.
  • The parent must be able to support the child without relying on public funds.

Documents Required:

  • Proof of the child’s relationship to the parent (e.g., birth certificate).
  • Proof that the parent can provide financial support for the child.

Visa Duration:

  • Child visas are typically issued for 2.5 years, with a pathway to ILR after 5 years.

4. Dependent Visas

Dependent visas allow individuals who are the dependents of a person on a work, student, or other visa category to live in the UK.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • You must be the spouse, civil partner, unmarried partner, child, or parent of a person who holds a visa such as a Skilled Worker visa or a Global Talent visa.
  • You must prove that the primary visa holder can support you financially during your stay.

Documents Required:

  • Proof of your relationship to the main visa holder (e.g., marriage certificate, birth certificate).
  • Evidence of financial support from the main visa holder.

Visa Duration:

  • Dependent visas are typically issued for the same length of time as the primary visa holder’s visa.

Minimum Income Requirements for Family Visas

For many family visa categories, there are minimum income requirements that the sponsoring partner must meet:

  • £29,000 per year if sponsoring a partner or spouse.
  • For each dependent child, an additional £3,800 per year for the first child, and £2,400 per child thereafter.

If the sponsor cannot meet the financial requirement, they may be able to use savings or other financial means to meet the threshold.
